I'd love to say it was because the style had to fit the content, but I'm not that clever!.
I just had this idea of Yassen looking back over his life before Alex, and I wanted to show how all those years would just look like a list of jobs. But I didn't want to take the time actually fleshing it out cuz that would be Plot *iz lazy*. I admit that I do sometimes like leaving quite a lot for the reader to fill in as they will!
