Thank you for a great comment; I wanted to leave it a bit ambiguous as to whether Margaret actually is the pretty girl from number 23, but yeah, I sort of saw him being guilt-tripped into the marriage, with that sense of honour and loyalty he has in the show.
And your summary of the Sam section is brilliant! He doesn't mean to be a prick; he wouldn't want to be a prick, but he's been brought up the over-protected little prince and he has no ideas yet between that and the selfish posturing of the other boys. He'll learn.
