Passes out from excitement...

OMG OMG OMFG. It’s canon. It’s bloody canon.
Gene/Sam written in Alex’s notes, "Gene ♥ Sam" on the wall, and “I’ll give you the story of Sam and Gene” in the trailer for next week.. *is happy slasher*
First off, I keep noticing a kind of French tinge to the theme music - maybe like a burst of accordion or something, just very brief.
Did they have Mr Muscle in 1983? I thought that was much more recent. I also thought there were a lot of gay references this week - “shirt-lifters”, “out of the closet and all over me”, “a drink that doesn’t look like it’s minced its way over from Mayfair”
I thought Keats was even more creepy than usual this week, but at times he seemed more human, as well; more vulnerable.
Ray is talking himself up as a superstud again, but this time we know for certain that he knows he’s talking rubbish. “I’ve seen the way she looks at me - it’s in the bag”. So why bother doing that? What did he have to gain?
When Keats said “Sometimes I wake up in the night and worry that I’ve misjudged him [Gene].” Then after that, did he say, “...that it’s me that’s bad, not him.” ?
I agree with everyone above who said that Gene was looking particularly hot this week! Also, I thought Danny Stafford’s comment to Gene about “someone younger, better looking,” taking over his job. Which he is doing, apparently. Chris calls Keats Guv, and Keats gets to do the “holding the dying” thing.
Why didn’t Viv call the ambulance on Alex’s say-so? He waited until Gene gave him the nod.
When Alex was pointing out to Chris and Gene the consequences of his beating up Danny Stafford, they were lighting Chris the same as ghost!copper, and showing him right-profile only, like we saw ghost!copper in the field.
Towards the end, we were shown several times that there is total darkness behind Chris, Gene, Alex and Shaz. And I think the reason that Chris didn’t get his LOM moment was that he didn’t choose to stay with Gene. Keats allowed him to stay with Gene instead of taking him onto his own team.
I was a bit puzzled by how devastated Keats looked at the end of Gene’s “thank you” speech. Or had he seen ghost!copper too?
All in all a very tense episode, and even if they’re only teasing us with the Gene/Sam references, I am currently a very happy fangirl!
