Um, hi? Do I know you?

I just got friended by someone I've never heard of. This does happen occasionally, but this one doesn't belong to any communities, has no public entries on their journal, no interests listed, and I've never heard of any of their other friends. Except for the one which is my totally private journal that only one person in the world knows is me and no-one else ever reads. And that scares the shit out of me.

Oh, and the bio is written in cyrillic script. Advice, anyone?

Of course, if you're reading this, new friend, perhaps you would be friendly enough to introduce yourself.

ETA: Right, now that's seriously weird. This entry has received fourteen hits in the past couple of minutes, from loads of places I've also never heard of. Normally I get just friends, or comms' friends-pages.

If it's in Cyrillic, it's a bot. There are a lot of them around, I've had a few of these 'mystery friendings'. There's somewhere on lj you can report them, but they generally disappear again after a few days.

I got one of these and reported the bot but it's still there. I checked their friends list and they seemed to have friended a few people replying to writer's block postings. It's a bit weird, wondering how they tracked you down though.

There are bots around at the mo - I've been friended by no less than 6 today. I generally ignore them and they eventually get deleted.
