“You off now, then?”
“Yeah. All packed up. So ...er ...’bye then. It’s been good. Hasn’t it?”
“Soppy git. We did make a good team, though, I’ll grant you that.”
“Will you ...will you miss me at all?”
“Course I will...“
“I’ll miss you too.”
“...I’ll have to do all my own paperwork.”
“Thanks, Guv. I love you too. Just do what you did last time.”
“What, leave it under me desk for the new bloke?”
“That’s right. Do you know who’s replacing me? Poor bastard won’t know what’s hit him.”
“Some nutter from Hyde. Name of Tyler.”
“Er, Guv?”
